When I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, I had no idea I’d find a meaningful outlet for my desire to help others in product design. My journey to Senior Product Designer has been a decade-long exploration fueled by curiosity and an obsession with continuous learning and trying new things.
As I spent time post-college exploring various interests (a woodworking class, digital art, rock climbing, an online coding bootcamp, trumpet and clarinet, etc.), a trend emerged: a profound need for both creativity and problem solving. This discovery, along with my education in psychology and art, led me to a Master’s in User Experience.
So today, my work as a product designer is not just a profession but a manifestation of my genuine love for tackling challenges with a curious mind and creative spirit.
Design Philosphy
As a junior designer fresh out of grad school, my design approach centered on adhering to a strict process for every project: User interviews and surveys, competitive analysis, personas and journey maps, sketching and wireframing, prototyping and usability testing, etc. As my work matures, this approach has evolved into a more nuanced and dynamic toolkit. Tailoring my approach to the specific business needs and available resources of each project allows for a more adaptable and effective design process that is still grounded in frameworks like Human Centered Design, User Centered Design, and Design Thinking.
